preposition grammar
what are prepositions?
Preposition is a word placed before a noun or a pronoun and shows the relation between it (noun or pronoun) and the word preceeding it.
preposition:- "pre" = before (আগে);
"positon" = place (অবস্থান);
noun or pronoun -এর পূর্বে বসে এবং noun বা pronoun -এর সঙ্গে preposition - এর আগে ব্যহৃত শব্দটির সম্পর্ক দেখায় ।
I sit on the bench.
( আমি বেঞ্চের ওপরে বসি। )
আমি বেঞ্চের কোথায় বসব?
Bench- এর ওপরে না নীচে বসব।
Bench- এর কোন জায়গায় বসব সেটা সুস্পষ্টভাবে বোঝানোর জন্য On শব্দটি ব্যবহার করা হল।
On মানে ওপর।
English Grammar -এর On শব্দটি হলো Preposition।
আর একটি উদাহরণ দিছি দেখো-
The bird is on the tree.
( পাখিটি গাছের ওপর। )
যদি On শব্দটি না থাকলে কি হবে এবার দেখো-
The bird is the tree.
( পাখিটি গাছ। ) - এখানে On শব্দটি নেই তাই এরকম মানে হলো। তাহলে কি এই বাক্যটি (Sentence) ঠিক হলো ? তোমারা বল।
তাহলে Preposition জানা প্রয়োজন আছে না কি ?
1. A cat is in the bag.
(থলের মধ্যে একটা বেড়াল।)
2. The pen is on the table.
(টেবিলের ওপর কলমটা।)
3. I go to school.
(আমি স্কুলে যাই।)
4. The bird is on the tree.
(পাখিটি গাছের ওপর।)
5. Sit before me.
(আমার সামনে বসো।)
6. He works at night.
(তিনি রাতে কাজ করেন।)
7. The bird is under the tree.
(পাখিটি গাছে নীচে।)
8. You eat from the tiffin box.
(তুমি টিফিন বাক্স থেকে খাও।)
9. The sister sits beside her brother.
(বোন্ ভাইয়ের পাশে বসে।)
10. The train runs through the tunnel.
(ট্রেন টানেলের মধ্য দিয়ে যায়।)
